Rich Roush
LEAD PASTOR
I’m originally from Waco, Texas, and I joined the staff of North Highlands in December 2022. I earned a degree in Business Administration from Baylor University (Sic’em!) and an MDiv in Theology from Truett Seminary. I’m married to my beautiful wife, Megan, and we have three crazy cool kids: Olivia, Griffin, and Shepherd. When I’m not at North Highlands, you can find me cheering them on from the sidelines somewhere.
My favorite thing about North Highlands:
I love the “neighborhood family” feel of North Highlands.
Something you don’t need to know about me:
I have a love-hate relationship with the game of golf and wish I knew Spanish.
Lead Pastor

Daniel Zandstra
WORSHIP MINISTER
I was born here in Dallas, but was raised in Tyler, Texas. I joined the North Highlands staff in September of 2021. I’m a member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie class of 2018 and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering. I am married to my beautiful wife Courtney and we have two awesome kiddos: Shepherd and Margaret. When I’m not at the office, you can find me writing music, playing Mahjong or Mexican Train with my family and friends, or desperately trying to break 100 in golf!
My Favorite thing about North Highlands:
I LOVE that North Highlands is a truly multigenerational church. It is a gift to be at a church where I can meet friends my age as well as have a wealth of people to mentor me and my family.
Something you don’t need to know about me:
My unofficial title around the office is “Minister of Fun.” If you’re ever looking to play (or make up) a fun game, I’m your guy.
Worship Minister

Kalie McMannus
CHILDREN'S MINISTER
I’m originally from Austin, Texas! I graduated from Texas A&M University in May of 2023, and joined NHBC staff in July of 2024. I’m still relatively new to Dallas, so in my free time I enjoy exploring my new city with my friends! I also love live music, watching sports, traveling, and reading.
My favorite thing about North Highlands:
The awesome kids in our Kids Ministry! Spending time with them is what makes Sunday my favorite day of the week.
Something you don’t need to know about me:
On my very first day of college I sprained my ankle really badly while jumping in the fountains on campus. I was on crutches for a few weeks, and I didn’t tell my parents because I was afraid they’d worry that I wasn’t ready to live away from home.
Children’s Minister

Josh Rivera
YOUTH MINISTER
I’m originally from San Antonio and joined the North Highlands staff in April 2023. I graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Communication Studies, where I also met my wife, Brooke. After moving to Dallas for seminary and for Brooke to begin teaching, I earned my Master’s in Christian Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2022. Outside of church, I enjoy spending time with Brooke, supporting our students, and training in Jiu-Jitsu.
My favorite thing about North Highlands:
What I love most about North Highlands is the sense of potential and momentum. It’s clear that God is at work here, and it’s exciting to be part of a church that’s just beginning to step into all that He has in store for this community.
Something you don’t need to know about me:
I was born two months early at just 3 pounds, 5 ounces—basically the size of a Chipotle burrito. Thankfully, I’ve grown since then… though I still wouldn’t turn down a burrito.

Barbara Berry
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Grew up in Lewisville, Texas. Have worked for NHBC for 27 years and attended for 35. I married my high school sweetheart, Scott, almost 50 years ago. We have 6 girls and 10 grandkids. We live on a 22-acre farm in Decatur, Texas.
My favorite thing about North Highlands:
I love NHBC because of the family atmosphere and all of our kids were raised in this church.
Something you don’t need to know about me:
I am a huge baseball fan and love the Texas Rangers!!
Scott Berry
FACILITIES
I went to junior high and high school in Lewisville where I met my wife, Barbara, and many life-long friends. After college and law school we moved to Lake Highlands and raised 6 kids while attending NHBC. In 2016, we bought a farm in Decatur and along with our 10 grandkids are enjoying the “country life.” In March of 2021, after the church’s “great flood,” I joined the staff to work through the insurance claim and supervise renovation of the facility.
My favorite thing about North Highlands:
Other than the church’s Administrative Assistant, the family atmosphere and all of the support we’ve received over the years from people in the church reinforcing our goal to raise all of our kids with a strong biblical foundation.
Something you don’t need to know about me:
In addition to virtually all sports (except soccer), I love Jeopardy and Trivial Pursuit.

COMMUNICATIONS
I grew up in Illinois, went to Art School in Florida and moved to Texas where I met my wife Amy at an advertising agency. We raised our daughters Beth and Abby here at North Highlands and both of them are now working with children educating the next generation.
My favorite thing about North Highlands:
The opportunities I have been given over the years to develop incredible friendships through life groups, retreats and church mission trips.
Something you don’t need to know about me:
My kryptonite is unfrosted strawberry Pop Tarts. When I was young, my mom stopped buying them because I ate so many and now if there happens to be a box in the house, it disapears within 24 hours.
